Maun
A dusty little town situated at the southeastern tip of the Okavango Delta, Maun is the safari center of the country’s most important tourist region. Many travelers fly into Maun to join a safari. Others begin their safari at Victoria Falls (Zimbabwe) and end up in Maun.
The Duck Inn is a favorite meeting place in town. Within walking distance from the airport, this is a good place to have a drink or meal and meet the locals. The bar at Riley’s Hotel is another good spot.
Maps of the Okavango Delta/Moremi Wildlife Reserve and Chobe National Park, books and souvenirs are available from shops a short walk from the airport.
