Located twenty miles southwest of Masvingo, this 65-square-mile (169 km2) park is a great place to go horseback riding among white rhino and a variety of other game. Pony trails are led by a park ranger into the fenced wildlife section of the park.

  • See “Great Zimbabwe.” CLASSES D & F: * National Park Lodges, some with private facilities and others without, are available.

    Matobo (Matopos) National Park Hundreds of kopjes supporting thousands of precariously balanced rocks give the 164-square-mile (424 km2) Matobo National Park one of the most unusual landscapes in Africa. This highly underrated park is divided into two sections — a general recreational area, where pony trails are very popular, and a game reserve.
